Looking to buy a 520d or 528i

Hi guys,

I'm looking to trade in my 335i for a 520d or 528i for my inlaws to use while I move overseas.

What are some must know things about this model?

eg. pre LCI vs LCI, known problems, to m sport or not.. etc..

Any tips would be greatly appreciated and if you could recommend between 520d and 528i

Haven't heard of any problems with the 20d engine, but I did hear some talks about the 28i getting premature turbo problems

Both engines are great though, cant go wrong with either

Judging by your location, petrol is popular as you don’t have the same tax system like we do mainly in the EU, my 520d was cheaper in comparison to the 520i!
With diesel you have room for improvement with the performance pack, ideal for every day driving to an already perfect car for everyday low rev driving providing you commute in urban areas of course!
I guess also on the basis you coming from a 335i to limit the loss in power feel by having some torque in place.
