F10 520d LCI - Carbon Black
Finally got to the dealership and picked up my new F10.
Initial impressions are, it's brilliant. Great ride, very nicely appointed and looks the part in Carbon Black (I think) I'll let the pictures do the talking Inside Debadged.....(because the dealer forgot ....and a quick video of the electric tow bar. ....and a cheeky one of the multi functional display too. Very nice car, black on black. Glad you have got it and like it, and the sun is out too!
Enjoy it. Can't wait to get mine, have now seen pics, will post up at the weekend |

That looks fab! Mine is due in December ... looking at your carbon black I'm beginning to regret ordering silver. Current e60 is Sapphire black, love it but just fancied a change.

Thanks guys, really am very pleased with it. Will get some better pictures of the inside and the Multifunction display over the weekend.
Going to look to either teach myself (or get someone else) some coding. Definitely want to get the electric boot to close on the remote/in car A pillar button and have the mirrors fold with lock/unlock. Anyone know if via coding you can set 'auto wipers' to be on all the time rather than me keep having to press the button on the wiper stalk? |

Lovely looking motor. I do like the CB, the blue in there comes out really well. I was just about to order mine in the same colour, but I have optioned black motors before, and then when I get them, see a nice grey and wonder if I should have done that. Not this time, lol.
The MFD is awesome. Worth every penny. Can't believe I just about didn't bother. It REALLY helps make the car IMO. Wouldn't want another without it now. As for the coding, I'm not sure what set-up you need for remote coding? Presumably it's done with a remote desktop connection, but you will presumably still need the software / cable. I have the cable (from my E91), but never bothered even downloading the software yet. Might get my geek on and look into it though. Will speak to Makaan over on the E90 forum first though. He seems to be the resident coding genius over there, so see how much he charges for remote, as that could be the initial lesson as far as I'm concerned, so I can see how to do it without bricking my motor, lol. As for what I want done, all of this, lol: - Automatic Parking Brake Release (Some 2011-12 cars) - Auto Start-Stop function to start as last used - Disable iDrive legal disclaimer - Disable seat belt status display – driver and pax - Disable seat belt reminder – driver and pax - Disable sound on disconnect SB – driver and pax - Display digital speed in instrument cluster (bottom center in basic, bottom of Speedo in Extended and Multi-Function) - Enable DVD in motion - Enable current position (GPS and Street Name) menu item (Navigation Display => options) - Enable key fob and driver side door handle to close the trunk (requires Convenient Access) - (Will have to see what I can do with this as no CA on my car). - Enable key fob and driver side door handle to fold mirrors* and close windows and moon roof * To change mirror fold delay - Enable Pressure and Temperature Readings to the TPMS Screen (dunno if this work without the sensors, I guess not) - Enable Sports Display (Power* & Torque* Meters) in the Vehicle Info screen. (For N55 only. For N63 cars the gauges appear, but do not function) (Dunno about this on a diesel) - Enable video playback via USB Port and with various video formats - Halos full brightness even when headlights are on - Opening doors will not interrupt window roll up (Front and Back) - Rear view camera always available - Splash animation on the iDrive screen upon system load: Variant1 = M logo, Variant7 = White BMW logo, Variant8 = Brown bmw logo (same as HU_CIC), Variant9 = Merry Xmas (Not sure about this yet either) |

Looking good there Beancounter. Great colour. Electric Towbar is fantastic bit of kit as well, never knew it did that! Nothing worse than a Towbar on display when you don't need it.

Yes, the tow bar was needed as I'm into cycling (MAMIL or Lycra Lout ) and it is pretty cool...............once you get over the fact it's an £800 option
Enjoyed the benefits of the heated steering wheel this morning......hands were lovely and warm |

Congrats, very nice.
Not many 520d with the 6MT, I uses to like manual gearbox, but I'm glad I got the 8SAT, it's briliant.

Exactly, if money were no object we'd all be in fully loaded M5's! I really fancied the 530d but wouldn't have been able to spec it up to what I would have liked without going over the budget I'd set myself. I could have but weighed it up and chose not to. As much as I'd like the extra power and extra two cylinders I knew I'd miss the toys more!

The wife got home on Thursday, so been busy doing stuff ever since. Hopefully have time to give the new motor a wee clean, and get some decent pics tomorrow. A little over 400 miles done now since Tuesday...

Very nice looking car! That MFD is quite cool, pity us poor 3 series owners can't get that!

Yes, I have thought about some larger wheels, but I'm enjoying he ride to be honest. I came from a RRSport with 20's on it and I was a little fed up with the harsh ride.
Maybe in 2014 :-) |
