Burger Tuning N20 Tuner for my 528i
I recently picked up the new BMS N20 Stage 1 tuner for my 2012 BMW 528 and I am completely impressed with the outcome! The install was easy as it gets and took about 20 minutes. For the $380.00 price tag I highly recommend it!!! http://burgertuning.com/N20_BMW_performance_Tuner.html
I took some pictures of the install so can get an idea how easy it is. Here is the full kit Disconnect the Negative battery cable located in the trunk to locate the Solenoid Connector you will have to lift the engine cover and it is locate behind the oil fill. (BECAREFUL you have 2 vacuum hoses that are attached to the cover make sure if they slip off to reconnect!!!!) Next locate the MAF Sensor Connector Next locate the MAP Sensor Connector The last connection is the TMAP Sensor Connect the Control box and tighten the screws. I have stowed mine away by the brake booster(I have control box shown for picture only). Last edited by ryang79; 08-23-2012 at 05:22 PM.. |

I'm just down the road in San Diego, should I drive up there and have them install it for me or should I have them mail me one and do it myself ? Can you feel the difference when you accelerate ? I wish they could remove the 130 speed limiter on my 2012 535i....

@Ryang, Great, I have been looking for more info for some time. I have an F11 with the same engine and actually got back from looking at my engine bay 5 mins ago :-)
Reaching the connectors seems simple enough but how do you get the AMP connector and the control unit to the right (under the rubber roof)? In the installation manual, you can just pull it under the rubber weather seal (in a 3 series) but this looks a bit different on my 5 series. Can you take a picture of how the flow of this cable? Can you describe a bit more about how the driving experience has changed? Pulling the negative pole of the battery will probably set off my alarm right? Sorry, I am not a very technical guy. thanks! rgds, Peter |

The alarm won't go off if you leave the car unlocked when you disconnect the battery. And the rubber simply pulls up in the 5-series. It's real easy. Not much that you can mess up.

I thought you also don't need to disconnect the battery if you let the car sleep for 10 minutes. When i had my stage 1 installed, I did not disconnect the battery and I did not have any issues. I think Stage 2 has a few more wires to connect so maybe the battery does need to be disconnected.

As long as the car is unlocked you will not have any problems with the alarm going off. |

Nice write-up about your install. However, I haven't seen anything about your driving impressions after the install. How is the difference in power? Acceleration? Lag? Low RPM vs High RPM?

Extremely interested in your impressions of the performance differential... I've been mulling over getting this tune for 3 weeks now since my 528 was delivered!
