Updating Maps of GPS Pro

Hi,

I've read in a few places on the web that the update of the maps in the GPS Pro can be done through the USB port in the gloves compartment, but the BMW guy at a nearby garage insists that it can only be done through the 6FL USB interface. Anyone actually done it through the USB port in the gloves compartment ?

For those of you living this side of the Pond: did you get free car-life updates with the car ?

I took delivery of my 520D in June of this year and after many phone calls between the local BMW Sales agent, BMW Customer Care and myself I got them to agreed to update the Sat Nav free of charge as a good will gesture. I believe the next European update will be available at the end of September. I don't think you'll get them to agree to a life time of updates free but I suppose it's worth a try you've nothing to loose.

Good idea indeed. Let's see if sales reps here are as good as in lovely Ireland.
