Changing old M steering wheel for new LCI M Wheel ?

Is that simple plug&play job ? Now I have M steering wheel with tempomat, limiter and Sport transmission with paddle shifters.

If I find complete LCI M steering wheel with airbag can I just replace my old steering wheel ? All plugs should be the same and no coding or anything is neccessary ?

Thanks

Yes it's plug and play as long as if you have a US Car you get a 2 Stage airbag wheel. If it's Euro Spec Car it's a 1 Stage airbag wheel.

+1 for me too! not the same steering wheel the OP is doing but hands down the best mod i did for my 5er just upgrading from that skinny boring OEM wheel i had to this which is more sporty and just overall better aesthetics from the driver's seat

You lose the heated steering wheel going with alcantara though...Maybe you guys in ATL dont care about that though?

I did and so do a lot of other guys who upgrade their steering wheels. Funny thing about it is I didn't even know I had heated steering until I took the wheel off lol! I'm in OH

i did it to my 535 and i did it to my wife's car..

it is plug and play.. just if you take a m5/m6 steering wheel (which looks awesome), the airbag plug was not plug and play. needed a bit of abrasion. the normal lci m-sport steering wheel with airbag was plug and play though...

Thanks guys. today my wheel should arrive and I will mount it. I hope it is not complicated with all those plugs. I will search for youtube video to see how to remove my old one.

I need one of these LCI wheels.
Love the round airbag. Anyone want to trade for a regular m-sport wheel lol?

Is there DIY for complete steering wheel swap ? I cannot find it anywhere and there was DIY for E90 here for every single thing. Is there one for F10 steering wheel removal ? I know how it should go but I want to see all electrical plugs and all that. I like to see photos before I do something like that. I am doing the swap in the morning.

And how dangerous is this thing with airbag ? It says in every manual that it can blow off with static electricity, WTF ? Is there real danger of destroying the airbag while doing the swap or it is just a disclaimer ? Have you ever heard that someone had that case that airbag went off while doing the swap ?

Thanks !

Did it today. So 2 plugs are now used, one yellow needs to be left empty with new airbag. So it is simple plug and play, paddle shifters and all buttons work.
