Navigation installation...
My brother has had his F10 530d for about a year. He ordered the car without navigation and would now like to install it.
I have replaced the radio in my F07 so I'm comfortable with my abilities to remove the radio & screen in his F10, however having removed his radio & screen is it simply a matter of installing the new (larger) screen (p/n 9 210 411) and CIC HDD head unit (p/n 9 223 402)? 1. Will the existing wiring suffice? 2. Is a specific GPS antenna required? In other words is this simply a 'plug and play' exercise or is there a lot more to it? I would be grateful of any advice or comments Thank-you |

He will need FSC code to activate navigation most likely. All the information for CIC retrofit is out there - but CIC is generally not plug-n-play.

It does need coding. There are a couple of including bimmer-tech.net. Patrys is the guy you want to get with. Here is a thread on similar retrofits. http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=590409
