I think the General Consensus is that people buying a NEW 5-Series are going to be Well-Established, usually over 40.

In the Used Car segment, you find people all over the place in age-range because when you look at the price of these cars when they are 5-6+ years old, that opens up to people like me who have never owned a BMW. My younger Brother bought a 2002 E46 in 2012 for less than $8k. He was 25 then.
If things pan-out well, I'll be buying an F10 at 35. We'll see...

33 here - Just picked up a 2011 550xi M Sport about a month ago. First car I bought was 2004 Audi S4 when I was 26, then decided to trade that in for a e90 335i which I ended up getting the mod fever and did numerous aftermarket goodies on it until I sold it and ended up with the 550xi (only got the JB4 Stage 3 tune on it) and loving it so far. Will later try to get the BCM cable and unleash some more extra ponies...content with the power I am getting so far with it. Would like in the future to get a carbon fiber sport steering wheel, carbon fiber rear diffuser and possibly spoiler
