Picked up a stablemate for my C63.

'14 E550 4MATIC. 4.6L biturbo V8. Wanted the new E63 but settled for this. I plan on tuning it and extracting a lot of additional power from that motor.

I skipped it on my s class, but went through it on my m3. No regrets on either, the torque is insane though. Look into a renntech tune, I personally haven't had it done, but did have a chance to experience it. If I didn't have another car on order, it would have been done.

That makes sense to me. I adhered to the break-in (for the most part

) on my C63. Ramped it up slowly. Engine feels very strong.

I went with the Eurocharged tune for the C63. They offer a pretty strong/aggressive tune for the E550 as well.

Renntech is an outstanding company though. It's run by a former AMG engineer.

When is the CLA45 joining the crew?

The biturbo V8 is pretty docile and smooth when just cruising around town but when you get on the throttle, both the motor and the exhaust let out a very deep, throaty growl. Very impressive sound for a turbo engine. Car & Driver ripped off a 4.3 0-60 time with the E550 and I'm not surprised whatsoever with that result. The engine, in combination with 4MATIC, makes for some devastating launches.

I'm hoping to improve substantially on the stock 1/4 mile time of 12.8 sec @ 112 mph with the Eurocharged tune.

My first opportunity to get a CLA45 locally won't be until after July, unfortunately.

Woa 4.3 and it's not even the E63, what a monster! But it makes sense when you realise it's AWD. It could really give your C63 a go there

Very nice car! I'm assuming they dealer traded with Bobby Rahal to get that? I used to work at Rahal and it doesn't look like any of their dealerships...

Thanks buddy. The character of each car is quite different but you're absolutely right, the E550 is no slouch.

The fastest 0-60 time for the "standard" C63 that I've seen is 3.9 seconds. Race Start helps quite a bit once you get the tires warmed up.

What's the best 0-60 time that you've recorded? I'd imagine it's capable of less than 3.9 since you got it tuned. Quarter mile times?
