Aftermarket brake upgrade questions
Considering either Dinan's kit or a generic Brembo BBK
Dinan: http://www.dinancars.com/shop/D290-0...ed.aspx#page=2 BBK: http://www.gtbperformance.com/brembo...es-m5-f10.html I have an F10 MSport with aftermarket wheels in the summer, so neither kit will be an issue, but in the winter I use the standard 19" 351 wheels. Will the BBK fit in the OEM 19" wheel? Also, which is better, drilled or slotted rotors? I'm not looking for track performance, just better control over the car in spirited driving scenarios Finally... it appears that upgrading the rear brakes is rare due to the loss of the E-brake system. Is it also not much of an improvement to brake performance since the fronts do most of the work anyway?

Hi Shoek....
I have Brembo BBK on my fronts only... I am running 20" wheels.. I don't think the BBK's will fit the 19"s.... Slotted I believe gives you longer life on your pads... I did not replace the rears with BBK... because of the e-brake not working...and I don't know if you will get any warning lights either... |

So after doing more research, it turns out I can't put the big Brembo/StopTech discs on (408mm) and do the 19" 351 rim in the winter. So, StopTech has a step down from that which is 380mm. The 550 MSport stock disc is 374mm, so no much of an increase.
Anyone have a BBK at 380mm... how does it compare to stock? Is the improvement coming more from the 6-piston caliper than the bigger disc?
