I've got this mental image of this little German geek MBA-type sitting in a cubicle with a checklist of options and configurations. His mind is going something like this:
"OK, in the USA those Big Mac eating fatties need a wider seat so we'll call that the Multi-contour Seat for those large American buttocks, and for us trim athletic Germans who will conquer the world one of these days with our superior intellect and car building skills, we'll call that the Glubergslichsceirsmfreidbeergersheun seat, for the rest of Europe I think we'll call it the comfort seat except in the UK and Hong Kong and Australia we'll call it the sport seat because it's on the wrong side of the car anyway. "For the USA we'll charge them $2400 because they would just send all that money to China anyway so what do they care? In Europe we'll charge a thousand Euros except for here in Germany since we bailed out those annoying Greeks who now have so much debt that we'll probably never sell another BMW in Greece in my lifetime so hell it doesn't matter what we charge, in England I guess we'll have to price it in pounds or kilos or something so we'll just make it expensive since they don't properly chill the beer over there and need to be punished for that, and in Australia we'll charge them, um, well they have dollars but they're not real dollars, so I guess it will be 5000 or so, and Hong Kong is going to be yen or something but so many BMW drivers there are English that they'll never be able to do the math, and I guess that leaves Canada and they are punished enough by being so close to those fatties in the USA that we'll just give it to them for free." Eh, maybe not?
