I don't have a jb4 yet and for the following reasons:
- I have a brake change service coming up soon and don't want to hassle with taking it off and putting it back on
- I want to enjoy the car and learn it inside and out before any mods so I can tell if the mod has a degrading or increasing effect on the drivetrain and reliability.

From what I've read the jb4 is extremely safe and reliable. Albeit a different engine/ecu the n54 motors have been running jb4s for years and many many miles without issue. The only thing I've heard about the jb4 on the f10 is it drains the battery, but that's being worked on I guess. Also you shouldn't keep the jb4 on for dealer visits as the general consensus is to remove it so they cant void warranty coverage in the case of future issues.

I believe the JB4 is less effective on the F10 models than on the F80 cars. Hence the reason I don't have one.
