So I know that akropovic makes an exhaust for an F10 M5 and I heard that its not hard or maybe a direct fit for a 550i is this still? Any modifications that im gonna have to look forward to? Random for my first post but I just traded my Raptor in for the BMW and Im kinda itching to turn this into a monster

I have successfully retrofitted M5 oem downpipes and M5 IPE full exhaust in my 2011 550i

You need to change downpipes brackets (18327845884, 18327845899) and shave starter side bracket in order to fit.

For the exhaust, it is direct fit except you need to change exhaust central support (51618048827).

and the sound is.....AMAZING!!!

Probably yes with a good shop.
I have a full M5 exhaust on my '12 550 and it just required some simple welding to get it to hook up to the DPs.
I looked at the Akro but since my car is a '12, I didn't want to pay for an exhaust that was 1/3 the value of my car lol.
If I had a new one though, all damn day. It makes these engines scream!

Little back story when I got my raptor I got it new and did a bunch of dealer recommended mods that were ok ish but not exactly what i was hoping for. Now with this car im doing it right. Im thinking 600hp and just sit until the new body style M5 comes back or the New AMG knocks me off of my feet.

The exhaust piping on our 550s is 2.5". The stock M5 is 3" and is a little bit longer. Not sure what it is on the Akrapovic but that really should be the only issue. You may have to check if the stock hangers and cross-brackets need to be changed though. I had to do that on mine.

OP, look into the M perf exhaust for the M5 as well, from what I hear its
made by akra as well and its basically the same exact thing.

Either or both sound amazing
