Yup. Some people have been saying this recall has been going on for a while now. But only for certain build date f10 550s. I didnt receive any letter up until a few days ago.. Couple months back, I emailed BMW NA, gave them my VIN, and said some buddies of mine are getting letters for an in-tank fuel pump recall on their 550s.

BMW initially put a 10 year warranty on the fuel pump, but now they are going to replace it even if it does not break.

I am the original owner of 2011 535i and never received a letter. Did call a dealership today and they confirmed that the recall is active for my car, however the profusely apologized and said that the prat cannot be ordered at this time. Apparently I have to wait until I get another letter before I can call.

i know this is old but i was wondering, did they replace the fuel filter when they replaced the pump under warranty? i was reading that they were connected

Filter holds the pump in place. Filter has clips that attach to the pump tank assembly. Pump can be swapped without changing the filter. But I am pretty sure they change the entire assembly, because it is not effcient and safe to do just the swap of the pump from a manufacturer standpoint. I say this because did stage 2 lpfp diy upgrade.
