Installed JB4 Stage 2 - Drivetrain Malfunction Warning! CCP?

Just installed jb4 stage 2. After driving around with a little spirited driving (never wot), I got a Drivetrain Malfunction Warning. Car seems to be misfiring.

I haven't gotten it scanned yet since I don't have a BT tool anymore or anything but my question is:

Upon searching, there seems to be a "Customer Care Package" recall for these components along with others similar to how n54 hpfp was covered in extended warranty. Should I just bring it in and have them inspect it? (removed jb4 already) Also, anything I should know about getting it covered under this CCP?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys as always.

Be sure to clear all the codes the JB can clear. Some my say 'tuner code' and they might get funny about fixing it for you?

I don't have a way to scan for tuner codes. All I used was a generic obd2 scanner similar to what you can buy at autozone. Should I postpone my appointment? Don't want to get denied coverage

I cancelled my appt. I wanted to diagnose it first before bringing it in. The plug on that cyl is fouled and smelled like fuel but not wet. Just Black around the ring and build up on tip. Checked gap and they're all over the place! Makes me upset that all the service done to this car all its life was in the same BMW dealership it was bought from. Really bad mechanic work. Regardless, I'll be getting new plugs. Any other plugs to consider for jb4 stage 2? Other than the Bosch stock? Also, what is optimal gap for my stock setup with just jb4 stage 2? Thanks

I went through the same thing, seemingly good running car. Then I installed the BMS tuner, and it triggered these warnings. I replaced all the coils and plugs, and the car still had the issue.

Then I took it to the dealer the and they found a bad injector, my car had the CCP done to it already and I ended up paying for another injector in the car which was very expensive.

I sent the BMS tuner back, It cost me close to 3k dollars to get his thing running normal again. I think the tuner just is asking the parts of the car to do more, and they have know issues with injectors and plugs, this just exacerbates the issues.

Its more likely that these components were failing on your car regardless of the tune. Since your car was running stock, it was not obvious.

It was only a matter of time (~3-6 months) before they were going to fail even on stock map.

This is what I was thinking. The tune just exposes weak/failing parts since it requires more load. My car from reviewing its history had injector(s) replaced at dealers at 18k, 20k and 46k. Not sure if one injector was replaced each time or all. Regardless, I am waiting to put on some new plugs and gap them properly and see what happens then. I'll keep you guys posted.

I have a quick question about stage 2 jb4. I am only going to run 93 octane for now. Should I just install the TMAP sensors or should I run the 4 wires too? Sort of confused from what I read on N54tuning. Also, I ordred NGK 95770. Anyone using this? What gap for my stock setup with just jb4? .022" good? Thanks

Yeah you can stay with just t map censors I've ran 12 flat on stage 1 race gas. Gap to .022 should be fine.

Would I even benefit from wiring the dme green purple brown and black wires? What do they do anyways?

its for safety measures if you end up boosting the hell out of your car, if you want decent gains on 93 you don't need to plug them in.

Cool thanks. So would that mean I'll be running stage 1 instead? Are there any difference in boost between s1 and s2?

How expensive was 1 injector replacement?

Why do the injectors fail?

This makes me scared to do the JB4 BETA.
