2013 550i XDrive
Just got her home yesterday after trading my 07 M5. Great car. I am sure this has been covered but what is everyone's opinion on the best exhaust?

Very nice. What are your thoughts about the 550 versus the M5 replaced?

Meisterschaft GTC is probably your best option if you want an agressive sound!
If you want something less agressive, I recommend Eisenmann Race...

I like the 550 but that engine in the E60 M5 was really sweet. I loved the sound and the insane power. The 550 is surprising fast though. I can only imagine after a few tweeks what it can do. I just want to be able to hear it. Anyone get the "motorsports" exhaust from the dealer? I wondered if it was any good...

Looked around myself and I think the Meisterschaft is a beast. However for me it is too much and too loud. I want my F10 550i to sound sporty and have that growl to it but not wake up the entire neighborhood and scare grandmothers each time I pull up to or take off from a stop light! After listening to a few clips and searching extensively I went with an Eissenmann Race exhaust. Have had them on my M3 and X6 and they were very nice! Refined but sporty and definitely distinctive enough to change the sound and demeanor of the car. There are some others out there too Supersprint and some folks have tried to adopt Remus (who don't make a system for the 550 yet) and others have done some custom systems too. Take a look around and see what floats your boat.

I don't have the active steering. Here are the options:
M Sport Cold Weather Driver Assist Package Driver Assist Plus Executive Package Bang and Olufson Sound Luxury Seating Package SPT Trans Rear Sunshades Overall I like it, its way too quiet so looking at exhaust now. But car is fast and fun to drive. I would however not go for the B&O radio, really not worth it. Either there is no Sub in the car or its broken. The stereo in my E60 M5 was 10 times better. |

Car dropped off today. Eissenman Race Quad arrived yesterday at the shop. Getting exhaust, Dinan and a few other choice changes done. Should be ready next week. Happy thanksgiving for me!

Going to revise the rear diffuser with an OEM F10 M5 one painted to match the body. Figured it goes better with the OEM M Sport kit that I have already with the car at time of purchase and will accent the Eissenman tips more. Dinan Performance Software will be added to give it more HP and torque and also allow the exhaust to breathe and improve the sound.
Finally adding the OEM rear spoiler since the M Sport kit really should have come with it! Upgraded wheels will come next spring after all the wet/snowy stuff ends. Will post pics next week when I get the car back.

Stage 1 for now...it bumps up to 495 hp and 573 torque which is above my current 400/450 from factory. Since I have the full M Sport package my top speed limiter was already increased to 155mph. Dinan just removes it in full. Will likely go to Stage 2 or 3 later but to me the increases after that seem minuscule 511hp/581 torque for $700-900 more depending on which one you go with. Even with their sale figured I'd see what life is like at Stage 1 and talk to a few folks who've done Stage 2 and beyond before going that route as I am not sure how much the gain is for the outlay. But I can always do it later as Dinan only charges the $$ difference between stage upgrades...thank god!

Yes Dinan Stage 1 gets you 496 hp and 580 torque the rest of the stages seem to be incremental upgrades of hp of like 10-20hp and really no torque so I am thinking its more of a change improvement in mapping for better response I am assuming. Either way I think stage 1 should be okay for an initial step but would love to hear the opinions of any Stage 2 or 3 Dinan owners out there.
