NewF10 Questions...
Been in the car for a week now.....
Some likes and a few dislikes (another post), I couldn't find info after reading through the owner's manual or after a cursory seach on the forum regarding the following: (please provide a link or a page # in the Owner's manual) 1. What is the volume available in the top of the glove box for? 2. What are the hooks on the B-pillars for? 3. The owner's manual states & depicts (arrow 1) that "manual" rear climate control (2 zone) should have a wheel to adjust temperature (not part of automatic rear climate), yet mine does not. Is this true for all US built F10's w/o automatic rear climate? My X5 has 2 zone, but the rear climate control does include a wheel to adjust temperature "slightly" by the rear occupants. 4. The rear covers on both front seats are very, Very loose. If I grab the bottom rear panel on each side, it has at least 1/2" of fore/aft play. Is this normal? Thanks..... |

1. Never look inside the glove box to see that top space.
2. I guess you can hang your jacket there.

The hooks on the B-pillar are great for hanging your suit jacket as it hangs just perfect without crunching the bottom, unlike the hooks over door do when your jackets folds on the back seat. Furthermore, a garment hanging off of the B-pillar creates less of view obstruction.

2 I think might be for you visor if you swing over to your window. Never noticed that on my car (will have to check for that now)
4 only get a/c controls if you have 4 zone climate control. Bmw may have changed the parts possibly (lci?) And not updated the manual possibly?? We all await pics of the car! |

2) A hanger hook. Very annoying place to hang a jacket IMO as the jacket then constantly bumps into my shoulder as I drive. Solved this by buying the travel system coat hanger, which is quite nice although overpriced.
3) Those controls are for 4 zone climate control. |

1) At one time I kept my manual in my rather full glove box and the manual fitted nicely into the extra space when I closed the door.
3) +1 to AlanM. Temp adjustment is only for the 4-zone setup.
