DINANTRONICS Stage 1 for N55 535i 2013

Im about to take the plunge and get this installed on my car.

Major reason why I chose this tune was that it retains warranty as my car is CPO and still has 11 months on the warranty.

I enjoy DRIVING... .... my car so I wanted to have that peace of mind.

If you are interested in review, let me know.

I'm interested in a review as I believe we're talking on another thread. (we have the same car) I'm really stuck between the DINANTRONICS unit and having my car tuned. I like the idea of the plug and play unit and I don't consider it a standard piggyback due to the extras you get along with the quality of the unit. I'm currently leaning towards having it tuned instead because I have a really good relationship with my local indy shop here in ATL for over 8 years through 2 bimmers.

(see the clip to the shop I'm planning to go to)

The only thing giving my doubts are the HP numbers they claim for our car. They say we should be able to get 360HP with their tune which I would love to see on a dyno. I would think a F10 535 would need some bolt-ons to see those numbers. If I saw a before and after dyno of the unit, it might change my mind.

For me, the warranty is a big factor.

Also, my Service rep has it on his car, and he let me take it for a spin... man the torque difference is something else.

Does your service rep have the same car(or motor) for a good comparison? We're traveling the same road because I care about the warranty as well but I've still had some other things done that the dealer has not detected or they just don't care about. I've had some coding done and I installed a charge pipe (which I highly recommend with the extra HP you'll be putting down) I've had the car back to the dealer for warranty items and I haven't had an issue but you do have to be careful with whats done.

I've also spoken with other people that have had tunes done to their cars under warranty and they haven't had an issue when they went back to the dealer. I'm still torn on which way to go, but if they truly can get 360 HP out of a 535i, I'll be right there with you.

Oh boy you're almost swaying me in that direction.

The charge pipe mounts up to your throttle body and the OEM part is plastic. Many people have had reports of this cracking when adding parts that increase the HP of the vehicle. Some people have had this fail under OEM conditions. This part is aluminum but to be honest, since your adding a part that is covered under the warranty,(DINANTRONICS) a broken charge pipe would be covered.

I got mine from Mod Bargains. ( I can't add a link)

I purchased this mainly as added insurance because I don't want to have to be stuck on the road even though my warranty will cover the cost. How much is your time worth knowing you have a component on you car prone to fail.

Get the vrsf charge pipe. I'm running it on my 535 and fitment was perfect. Did you look into the mission performance tune at all? Way cheaper and had m boot option incase your worried about getting your warranty voided. Which by the way they can't do unless they can prove your tune was what caused the failure

Thanks for the recommendation with mission performance. I'll be looking into this as I think these dyno numbers are more realistic and thats a ton of torque.

Since the computer is under the manifold, I won't be doing this. Maybe if it was easier to get to.

There is a video on YouTube of the removal. It takes about 1 hour to remove manifold and would be perfect time to get a walnut blast. They are in California idk how far they are from you but still would be worth it I think.

I just saw the video and I can do that as I've done jobs like that before. I may just be too lazy to go through all that. I already had my walnut blasting done.

Make sure you get a baseline dyno as well so you can actually compare the gains. Otherwise kinda pointless if not knowing what stock numbers were.

You should be able to put your car on any dyno. Doesn't matter what car or transmission you have.

DigitalNav If your car puts down 360 HP as advertised with no Mods, I'll be sold on that unit. Not to be nosey, but do you know if the service rep had his car dynoed? And when do you think you'll get the unit?

I called some places and theyre like "we only do american cars" and others are like we dont have the tools for automatic BMW.

Never heard of that before in my life. A dyno can do any car. Only difference is between an awd dyno and a 2wd dyno. You need to find better shops out by you.

If anyone knows a good dyno place near San Jose, Milpitas or Fremont (NorCal) ... let me know!
