Oil consumption on 550?

That's insanely quick. I'm sure the xDrive helps out quiet a bit at that power range. Hopefully the frong drive shafts will put up with the abusive treatment.

For those of you with 550is, has the oil consumption issue continued as the car has broken in? Do you still add oil after 25-30,000 miles.

I just added a quart after 4,500 miles and the service warning message appeared and am curious as to whether this is likely to continue.

I realize this thread is a bit old, but I'm interested too.

For those who do not have oil drop, how did you break in your cars? I get mine next week and would like to avoid the issue if possible.
