RFT+Nail+Careless Tire Shop = Disaster

Took the rear RFT to get patched after finding a nail in it. Look what the tire shop did to the rim. For the love of everything holy! Long story short. Getting a brand new rim. I think it's 600 bucks retail.

No, America's Tire. Been going to them for years, they have always done a really good job. Fixing flats for free, balance and rotating tires for free, always tightening the wheel nuts with a torque wrench and not an impact gun. I'm sure this is not the first time this has happened. They didn't hesitate to replace the wheel with a new one.

Find a rim repair / refinishing place. They can repair that easily and the rim will look factory new. That's terrible what they did to you rim!

Yes. The puncture was right in the middle of the tread, so it was patchable.

Yup, better idea. Are they owning up to their incompetence?

At least they took care of you. That's why I always take my car to a reputable large chain (Discount Tire) for that type of stuff. Once they damaged a wheel on my Porsche and that was a $1200 wheel. I received a check in the mail in 72 hours!

If you can keep your damaged wheel, have it repaired for a few bucks and keep it as backup.
