Lease is up March 2018, MY18 M3 or M550i

Hi everyone,

Little bit of my background: Currently I'm driving F82 M4, had a baby now 6 months old with a car seat in the back (i have an NX200T too so this is not mainly for baby car, only pick up and drop off at nanny for 5 miles drive from home), lease is up in about a year, been thinking about to get X5M so i can combine both leases into 1 car, but the X5M lease is pretty scary. Lately, I'm pretty impressed with G30 M550i, what do you guys think?

Factors that I concern:

1. Both M3 and M550i MSRPs are very close, which is $79k vs $81k, pricing will be the biggest concern
2. Space
3. Fun factor
4. Cool factor, from M car to M550i

Please submit your poll at http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1368848

depending how long you are planning on keeping this car.......long term wise, the M550i seems like the better option for space, transporting, comfort for your child, and its pretty fun to drive.

M3 is definitely more nimble and fun to drive, but limited on space. If your child needs more space later on.......then maybe if you could get away if your significant other has a larger car.

If it was me in your case, I'd get the M550i. You get multi-purpose and some fun.

Depends, how old are you? (you dont have to answer that)

At some stage in your life, you have to arrive in style and a M550 is better for that, plus the G30 is beautiful. Yeah, I'd love a toy car too, but that would be a fourth car at this stage, for me

Well I'm just going to do a 3 years lease, and next one hopefully will go for a cayenne because loves Porsche so much...

I'm turning into 31 in May, I feel like is about time to forget about the fun car and focus on my family and give the best to my baby girl (of coz m550i also for myself otherwise I will just get a Camry, too much bs from myself) but well, just too many thought in my mind now

Not sure why BMW is bothering with having both an M550i and an M5... I think what they had before (550i and M5) made more sense. Anyway, I would just go with the M550i which is already overkill enough.

Well the main questions really are:

When's #2 kid ( if n when)

Does that Lexus fit your needs?

I myself have 2 kids now. We have a Honda Element, Jetta vr6 and f10 535. We don't need 3 rows so we feel like the bases are covered. You have a certain predicament with the Lexus. If you feel like that handles the "cargo/heavy load" situation, then I would say yes, no worries worries. Get whatever is fun and enough just for kid seats
