Ditching Run flats
OK, probably been asked a lot before, thinking of removing my run flats on my F10, 18inch wheels, could of questions...
1. Looking at Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2, any thoughts seems a good tyre of the value? 2. Inflation kits, Continental kit over a slime kit, again any thoughts? Slime - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Slime-180033...e+tyre+sealant Continental - http://www.care4car.com/bmw/5-series...alant-kit.html Thanks in advance! |

Two things to keep in mind while using Tyre Sealants 1) Is the sealant water based? I think Slime is water based, not sure about Conti. 2) Is the sealant suitable for TPMS? Again, I recall that Slime did have a variant for TPMS - not sure this particular model is suitable or not? Please do post as to what you chose finally... (both tyres & repair kit)

with these sealants, I only found them to go up to a size 16" tyre.
can anyone provide link to a 20" version?

I bought a can of Holts Tyreweld (500ml) when they switched my old company car onto normal tyres. I had to use it once, on a totally flat tyre and it worked really well. It expands, seals the hole and all you have to do is drive it for a bit then find somewhere to top it up with air.
I'm sticking with run flats on this car, as it's mine and my choice. |
