Pricing goal for BMW wheel & tire warranty
I'm contemplating the BMW wheel/tire warrantyfor a new 5 series/sport/18 inch wheels.
While I'm usually not a fan of tire insurance, the 5 comes with the Goodyear tires that have a reputation for lots of bubbles. I'm looking only at BMW warranties like this one http://cache.bmwusa.com/pdf_1e176335...d-2e77150d4fc5 There's also the one that includes windshield replacements and PDR. http://cache.bmwusa.com/Pdf_f451f98b...7-1edcb10573d0 I realize the dealer markup on these is huge, so I'd like to get a price goal. TIA |

According to several dealers, the wheel/tire policy is $1187 for three years. This does not include cosmetic damage.
Fazit - put that money into a money market account and buy tire insurance with tire from now on. Tirerack's road hazard policy is under10% of the tire cost for three year coverage. i also understand that Goodyear includes a road hazard warranty and is stepping up to the plate when bubbles appear even if BMW dealers seem unwilling to help. |
