Hell there,

I 'm looking into test driving this 550i Xdrive. Anyone have thoughts? It would be a daily driver (about 22 miles round trip). Im not too worried about gas efficiency. Just want a solid dependable fun car to drive. Is this car 'fully loaded' or just averagely loaded? What could have been added that wasn't?

Are there known issues at with this model/year?

Thanks.

Well I don't know if most people would call the N63 engine dependable if you've done any searching on this site. I'm sure a lot of people haven't had any problems with their N63 engines but it does seem to have its issues. BMW acknowledged the problems with the engine and offered the CCP (Customer Care Package). I would definitely find out if the CCP has been done on this car.

Running the VIN on this car indicates the car is very loaded especially for a 2011 model. It looks to have almost every option except night vision.

You would have to ask a BMW dealer who would be able to run the VIN and see if the CCP has been done. Now getting a BMW dealer to do that when you didn't buy the car from them might be difficult.

BMW bounced 5-series options and packages and what options were available/standard/not available to no end between 2011-12-13-14 and 528s, 535s, and 550s. Hard to be sure without finding the ordering guides for the specific year and model, so be careful of any second hand info because what I'm "100% sure of" regarding my '12 might not apply to the '11. Best to look it up.

I agree, the 2011 models didn't have some of the equipment available that later year models had.

Here is a link to a 2011 brochure indicating what options were available:

According to the VIN decoder, this car does have heated rear seats (Option S496A) but does not have rear climate control.

Ceramic controls and B&O radio were not options in 2011.

Here is the ordering guide for 2011 550i xdrive model:
