P3 Vent and Battery discharge
I started experiencing the dreaded battery discharge warning. After numerous recharging and recurring of the issue, I decided to take it in to have BMW look at it. Apparently the computer was signaling that the P3 Vent which was plugged into the OBD port was keeping the car from going to sleep. I can't imagine that to be the case. Has anybody else experienced this? Their recommendation effectively is to unplug the OBD port and only plug it in while in use.
Just wanted to hear if anybody else has had this experience. Thanks,

Unfortunately
Unfortunately the p3 gauge gets its info from the obd port. It is theoretically designed to draw very little electricity and to be constantly plugged in. It is not the p3 that is draining the battery but the fact that it is preventing all other systems (which uses a lot more power) from sleeping.
Either ways right now the p3 is unplugged and the battery discharge warning has not reappeared.
