Count me as one of the people who strongly believes that the F10 5-Series comes out of the box with a beautifully sculpted look. The M-Sport and new M5 of course take that sculpted look to the next level.

Now, i'm not against body kits by any stretch, but in my opinion, this new concept from Prior Design takes things in the wrong direction. Their designs rests on the use of the E90/E92 M3 center grill design grafted onto the F10 5-Series bumper with a row of horizontal LED foglamps along the top part of the brake ducts. The front fenders have been modified with designs lifted straight from the 1M, including an M-like bar that crosses the design crease. Larger wheels and a blacked out roof complete the look. In my opinion, this mishmash of M design cues cluttered together gives a definitively gaudy look to the otherwise tasteful F10 5-Series body.

Full details on this vehicle are said to be coming out in a few weeks, and their is word that they will have some sort of under the hood tuning to back up the looks.

This is all obviously subjective, so what do you guys think of it??

I think for a tuner, it's not bad. I dont like the wheels or sidevents. LEDs also have to go. However, if you compare it to other tuners it's actually quite nice.

I think the M5 should have had a wider intake at the front to seperate the design from the M3 bumper. It also should have had some flare in the side skirts.

Er... it looks "okay" because they improved serious weaknesses in the new 5-er's design.

I don't envy the challenge these bodykit guys are facing with this new 5-series.

But yes, this is the best one so far.

Cool Prior Design F10 5 Series Previewed

I've been wanting to get different side skirts, looked at the M-tech as well as Hamann (and replicas). Ran across an ad from Prior Design in this issue of Eurotuner, I think I like these best. Check it out:

Here's what I see:
  • vented hood
  • aggressive replacement bumper
  • spoiler lip
  • bumper LED lights
  • sideskirts
  • replacement front quarter panel with 1M style faux vent and gill
  • replacement rear bumper with aggressive rear 'diffuser'
  • blacked out door handles
  • blacked out roof

Performance wise it looks like there's a quad exhaust fitted, lowered suspension, larger wheels, and big brake kit.

No idea on cost of course :-)
