2013 550 Charcoal filter delete intake

Okay, so I heard you can remove the Charcoal air filters but it's seems on my car the air filter is glued into the housing? I can see additional filter sitting on top of air filter.

Can I just cut it out?

Could be in my head but I feel like it has better throttle response and you can hear the turbo
spool a tiny bit more.
