VHT Blue Paint. You want to clean them, sand them down a little and get them rough and then clean and paint.

I went with the G2 paint kit, got it on Amazon. I like the brush on kit only because it's more user friendly than sprays.

I have looked at this pack, does the paint smooth out?.

it probably wouldn't if you use the cheap brush that comes with the kit. instead I get 1" foam brushes from home Depot (0.67 cents each) and use that, it makes for a smoother finish. no brush strokes.

G2 paint kits are pretty good but pricey. Ive used high temp spray paints on a few of my cars over the years and held up very well. i usually slap on a high temp clear coat on it as well for easy cleaning and less of stain on the actual color.

You kept it very classy which is exactly what I am planning on doing.

Did you have any problem with the clear coat? In the past whenever I appy clear, it would totally wrinkle and mess up the base coat.

If the clear wrinkles itt usually means it is a different type of paint than the base coat. For example: enamel doesn't play well with acrylic paints. For brakes, which are normally high temp enamel paints, it's best to use something like high temp engine enamel clear. Do not wait more than 15 minutes between coats, otherwise you have to wait up to a week for the paint to fully cure before you can put on the clear. Make sure the temperature is within the range indicated as well.
Basically, follow the instructions on the can

No problems yet..that I've noticed. I will keep an eye on it each day though and report back if anything goes weird.

I really didn't even need it. I could have skipped the clear entirely and been fine with the black. I personally don't think it "glossed" anything up that much.
