Rear Window Dots?
Anyone ever seen this before? I noticed it when I washed the car today. Looks like the rear window is delaminating. Or is this "normal"?
Sorry for the ginormous pic... |

Some better informed than me may disagree but I think that is normal. Depends maybe on the light.

It's normal, and it's easy to see when you wear polarized sunglasses.

Normal. You don't notice it as much with tint and it looks sharp.

It is not polarization. I guess that happens during the production process. e.g. different cooling rate when the glass is moving on conveyors. It is not limited to car glasses as well. When you wear polarized sunglasses you see them on many glasses around.
I will look into it more. (my geek side )

Haha sorry, i was on travel and haven't been online much.
But no, that was just a "naked eye" pic from my iPhone. Ironically, the next day driving into work I was behind a Scion xC that had the same dots in the window. I kind of figured it was a by-product of manufacturing, but I also figured in a higher end vehicle that it might not be tolerated from a quality perspective. One thing I have learned though, is it's not even worth talking to the dealer about. They'll just give me some made up story that the dots are actually solar panels that charge the car... you know, part of Efficient Dynamics :P |
