Akebono Euro Ultra Premium Ceramic vs OEM pads

Probably beat to death but need specifics here.
Need to change my 2011 550i brakes. I love the feel of OEM but as usual hate the dust, but I love the "cold bite" feel and stopping power!
Question:
To those of you who have gone Akebono pads (EUR1409 - front EUR1469 -rear) do you really lose a lot of the cold bite?

The last time i switched to ceramics was on my old e46 and almost went over the stop line after some spirited driving . Went back to OEM the next day.

I installed these on my car in February and didn't see a big difference in initial bite. After 2 or 3 days I got used to the new feel and have had no issues at all. Now I can have a clean car AND clean wheels two days after a car wash!

Changed mine last month and yes, I can feel the difference. Less bite for sure but on the positive side, my wheels look like they've just been washed, 2 weeks later. Funny, because it happened to me also, I went over the line thinking that my car can still brake with the same distance. FYI, I have a GT so it's a tank compared to F10's.

Thanks guys! thought as much. I can't live with that trade off. Guess ill be using my good ole "wheel wax" and "armor all brake dust repellent" to deal with the dirty wheels battle!

Our '08 needed Akebonos as the wheels turned black in a day.

But my '12 550i has BMW pads and they're fine. Not quite Akebono clean, but almost! Maybe BMW changed the pad composition?

Autogeek has wheel coatings, you can put on the wheels which is supposed to last longer than a regular wheel wax etc.

go check it out.

I recently applied a ceramic coating to my car, that same coating will work on the wheels so i will apply that once it warms up here ...

Are you talking about the Ceramic wax? you basically have to wipe it off pretty quickly? i was going to try that stuff next summer.
