Correct OBD 2 cable

Hi All,

can anyone advise me what is the correct OBD 2 cable to buy off eBay?

My laptop will accept either USB or RJ45 (ethernet) but is one cable superior to the other. I do not want to get the wrong one.

Also some cables come with a CD so is this just for driver software or is there more software on the disc that is required.

I have tried doing searches and reading threads but there is no real info regarding the cable, that I could find. Perhaps I should also say the car is a F10 MAY 2015 if that makes any difference.

Thanks for the help,
John

You'll need an ENET cable. These can be made easily or bought on ebay or suppliers like here

http://www.jjdiagnostics.co.uk/bmw-c...ista-isid.html

Check out the F10 or F30 coding forums for friendly contacts who will provide links to the Esys software for coding or Rheingold for diagnostics
