I haven't noted any specific setting required. I believe you must have Navigation Professional and BMW Connected Drive for RTTI to work.

have you never got RTTI?

RTTI came out I believe around late 2011. I have it on my April 2012 model and noted that early on in my ownership I would quite often not get RTT but it dropped back to TMC. My guess is that is was early days with the technology as now its always on.
I would suggest contacting BMW to clarify the situation. Its free for the first 3 years of the car and there after you need to pay per year. (£120 I think)
It may be that BMW has missed something somewhere and you account is not listed with it.

When was the car built, If it's before late 2011, that might explain it possibly.

connected drive were lots of help

Hi

I subscribed to connected drive around a month ago, most things work such as BMW online etc… however the RTTI on satnav has always shown TMC and has never changed to RTTI. Is this a enabled feature ?

Thanks

Good afternoon Mark

Thanks for your email about your BMW ConnectedDrive service.

I’m sure you’ll appreciate without being able to physically inspect your car, so it’d be unfair for me to comment. I’d recommend contacting your nearest/preferred BMW Approved Centre for further assistance.

I’m sorry that I’ve not been much help, but if there’s anything else I can help you with, please get in touch.

Kind regards

A number of dealerships have resident "Gurus" who will spend time looking at tech issues like phone / bluetooth comms and the like, regardless of whether your car is in warranty or not.

I had an issue connecting my HTC One M8 to my 2012 F10 when I purchased it earlier in the year. Although the Guru didn't have all of the answers, he spent some time talking to tech staff and letting me try connecting the phone to other cars in the dealership. Might be worth a shot.
