how much is your insurance?

i know there are many things to consider when u get a car insurance, but i was wondering what is your yearly insurance cost for your 5 series?
please respond in below order, this might help some of us to see if what we pay is reasonable.

2012 528 xdrive
500 deductible
clean driver history(no tickets)
$1320 a year.

There are way too many other factors to have a proper comparison. Call a local independent insurance broker, they will compare your existing policy to other carriers with the same policy and supply you a comparison (at no charge).

Relative cost of insurance

I moved my policy from my '07 530xi to a '13 535xDrive ... both were pretty loaded (MRSP for the '07 was about $64K and my '13 was $67K) so the relative replacement costs etc were close. I expected to get nailed (after all I'm in NJ + a 6 year newer car + turbomotors etc) but the annual premium increase, keeping all the same coverages, was $160/yr. It's hard to break out my individual per vehicle situation because I insure 4 cars + house + multi Mil $ liability blanket etc.

BTW, I write it thru BMWCCA's 'partnership' with one of the large companies - so when I need them there will be no debate about using BMW repairs and parts vs Joes Bodyshop.

BTW, I'm relocated from the 5 Series . net forum

Yes. The big jump seems to be about 25 years of age. Below that, you have much higher rates apparently.

My new car is AUD1343.
- maximum no claim bonus (no accidents in last 6 or more years)
- nominated drivers
- AUD600 at fault excess
- multi-policy discount (we have 6 other pieces of insurance with the same company)
- free replacement in 1st 2 years if a total write-off

As a guide to other insurers here for this car, based upon my history etc:
Commonwealth Bank Insurance (Largest bank in OZ) - AUD2300
BMW Insurance - AUD3750
APIA (specialises in insurance for the over-50s) - AUD1573
NRMA (state motoring organisation like the AA in UK) - AUD2520
BUPA (massive global insurers) - AUD2755

So you can see it's all over the place premium-wise.

Relative cost of insurance

It's near impossible to do a driver-car comparison for insurance prices. Actuaries run the formulas ... state agencies regulate the rates ... the individual determines how much risk they can tolerate and etc etc etc. To much fruit in the mix to compare apples and oranges!

All over the place in Oz as well. Insured mine through NRMA for A$1500 (a lot less than they quoted you), but it did include a multi policy discount. I thought that was OK for $150K cover

GEICO Umbrella Policy. 2 cars ('13 F10 528 + '02 INF G20) + Condo policy = $1402. of course, I've had GEICO since 2002 and they maxed out my discounts.

Here in Ireland we normally pay more than everywhere else for just about everything, but not on this occasion, check it out -

2013 F10 520d SE, Sports Auto, 5 years no claims, no penalties or licence points, €290. Fully comp with protected bonus. Excess €200.

Got to be the best out there!

again, I feel shafted living in Japan... my insurance this year going forward was 230000yen-ish = 2480 dollars. have total coverage on any dmg I do to ppl/things/cars and if I drive my car off the cliff I get about 70% of my car's MSRP price btw no records but not very good rate since I have to have no record for about 5-6 years till I get good rate.

I use SF for everything as well, but for me they definitely weren't cheapest for the bike. I really need to consider moving that policy. What do you ride?
