Replace Battery

Hi folks,

Yesterday, my October 2010 520d, ~80k miles states ...

"Replace Battery"

... on the dash, when I turn off the ignition.

Any hints how soon I need to do this? Do I have one or two weeks grace to do this?

Cheers ...

Fit it yourself and get a private coder to code

I did it on my X5, dealer wanted £650 I paid £180 for an Exide gel battery and £60 to code it

You just have to program in what ampage of battery is being fitted and the mileage at which it was fitted. The car changes the alternator charge profile as the battery ages. Not coding it will result in the battery dying out earlier as the car thinks it has an older battery fitted
