My 535i has been compounded, polished a few times, glazed, sealed, and waxed on top. It looks excellent now after a plain wash, and it's been months since the last wax. My interior is spotless and I don't need any work on the wheels. As it's not my daily driver there's not much work to do on it. Sometimes I drive it in the rain just to give me an excuse to wash it
I have worked on a few cars for Fam and friends just for kicks but not regularly.
So, what do you do if you like detailing your car like I do and you don't have very much that needs work? Move on to the engine? Experiment with other products? Just wondering.

Daily it. I daily my 535i which makes me have to clean it more often.

Or start modifying it in terms of parts

Can't go that route anymore I'm retired, and mods weren't part of my retirement plan . I did that when I had a job and my 740.

i'm pretty happy with the stuff i ordered from Chemical Guys. there's actually alot more stuff i ordered that's not in this picture. but it wouldn't hurt trying other products out there. sounds like you love detailing! same here! but i only enjoy it when i'm working on just my car. maybe you should start a side business. have you detailed the engine bay?

Interesting. I'm not retired yet (12 months to go!) but I also find detailing my own cars to be relaxing and enjoyable. I was thinking of having a go at the engine bay as well, as this is territory I've never seriously explored. When selling previous cars, I would just take a rag and wipe down the obvious areas under the hood. No doubt there is more to it than that.

Haven't done the engine bay and you're right, there's nothing like detailing your own car. Man you've got a serious arsenal, picking up that Monster beverage looks like a great idea . I've done a few cars for spare change. They love that Stripper Scent . Thinking about getting into coating but not ready to shell out the bucks. Thanks for the reply.

love the V07 for the body and the Matte Detailer Spray Sealant for my wheels. ended up ordering the gallons sizes!


also, their EcoSmart Waterless car wash is pretty good when i didn't have access to a water hose. The Bug and Tar remover worked great especially with all the country roads in Ohio...bug heavan!

Consider a ceramic coating. The sealants and waxes you've applied will soon break down and don't necessarily prevent water spots like ceramic does. Then, daily drive it. Sadly, these cars will never be considered valuable, so just enjoy it while you have it.

Every time I wash my car I wipe my engine compartment with soppy water.
