Need advice on Adaptive Headlights

Hi,

Totally new here and in desperate need of advice regarding headlights. Have a 2011 f10 Msport, both headlights are full of moisture, Adaptive control units destroyed etc.

Needing to replace both which is very costly and I’m actually struggling too find a parts supplier other than BMW (local out of stock and online mostly halogen available can’t find adaptive both sides)

I have found an aftermarket headlight with no ballasts or control unit etc, wondering if anyone can tell me if I get this cheaper option is it as simple as putting the adaptive headlight control unit in it too install? (Attaching eBay link)

And if not possible can anyone recommend where I could get a pair of new adaptive headlights for around £1500 or less?

(By no means a technician or mechanic so bare with me lol! Trying my best and enjoying working at my first BMW!)

Hi. I had same issue and tried to fix myself. In the end i used these. Cost me about £800 for both all in and on exchange basis. I took the bumper off and removed lights which was really simple then took them to them. THey can have them sent by post. Excellent service.

Also just to add they look new and 6 months in all work perfectly. Had to have them coded in as i needed a new circuit board in one of them.

Thanks for the input I’ve went ahead and ordered a pair on eBay, cost £1200 for a used set without modules which is shocking but new ones out of stock everywhere I tried except autodoc, negative reviews put me off them, will try putting extra sealer around them when they arrive to try and prevent it happening in future

Very pricey job. Was a nightmare to sort but in the end I was ok with them. Can see why they may get some negatives though but my experience ok.
