Need tire sizes for xdrive.

Hello everyone. I just bought a set of 373m wheels to replace MORR VS8.2s. I love how they look, but I just want to come back to OEM wheels and I have a question about tire sizes. I'm planing to use 245/35/20 front and 275/30/20 rear. I used to have 285/30/20 like most forum members but 373m rear wheels are only 20x9, so 275 is a better choice I believe. Can anyone update me if it's still considered safe to use 245/35/20 front and 275/30/20 rear on xdrive? Thanks in advance.

Just wondering which aftermarket wheels you have that are cracking? I'm currently shopping for wheels for my wife's F10 and obviously, there are the cheapo ones on ebay for $600/set and there are the name brand stuff like Niche, etc.

I would warn that BMW wheels can crack as well, I have 312 20" wheels and one of those cracked and buckled on the rear. In fact my car has been in the shop since yesterday having the new wheel powder coated black and the others refurbished to remove some minor damage from the previous owner...

Really any wheel can be damaged or cracked. I've seen forged wheels crack and not because of bad design but you'll always lose to potholes!

Yeah true, just picked up my car and they told me that one of the front wheels has a very minor hairline crack in it too!

Roads here are terrible and I kind of drive it real hard all day every day...

I have the majority of potholes memorised on regular routes but there's always the odd one you forget about or is new

Does your city not cover pot holes?

There's plenty of pothole where I live but it gets taken care of in a few days. The problems I have are sunken man hole covers and road patches bubbling up which these GoodYear LS2 can't handle.

They do eventually but the lack of investment in road resurfacing in the UK has left our roads littered with potholes. One bad winter and the frost pushes out the repairs leaving them to start again... They just don't provide enough funding/resource to keep up.

Mind you I was in New York in May and the roads there were even worse than ours after the winter they had out there!

NYC driver here. Driving here is like dodging land mines, it is brutal. I am looking at getting a set of forged wheels for additional strength due to the bad roads here.

This 245/35-275/30 is the OEM 20" tire sizes for the xDrive models: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=36_1503
It looks like BMW is still not aware that the perfect fit 285/30/20 does really exist. But OK, your xDrive is safe with the offered setup.

245/35/20 and 275/30/20 is a factory option on the M550d xDrive with same speced wheels as the 373M wheels.

Potholes are definitely doing damage to 20+ rims, but I drive mostly on the same roads in Denver and I memorized locations of all bad potholes
Thanks for comments guys. The new wheels are going to be on tomorrow. Anyone with 373m wheels, post your pictures please
