Whats with the lack of 6MT f10s?

if i want a manual i'll buy a porsche... and even then, i may not buy the manual. i love driving manual, but city life is a struggle esp in seattle where there is a fuck ton of hills

Well they are widely offered in Europe... Not here in the Middle East Though, all we get is the Auto... BUT they DO offer Mini's here in Manual and you can order a specific car with MT... They may bring 3 or 4 MT cars from time to time... And I've also seen NUMEROUS US Spec Bimmers around here... From X5's to X6's to i3's and even An M6 that i see almost Daily! Mostly here you'd see the 3,5,6,7,X3,X5 and LOTS of X6's but i haven't encountered a MT Bimmer yet in the middle east (Qatar) but I have encountered quite a few of JCW Mini's with a MT...

UPDATE: I just found 2 used M1's for sale with Manual's and a Z8...

The OP starts off by sounding "confused" why he can only find 300 manuals compared to 10,000 autos... and then asks why this is the case on a car of this type? Several manufacturers may still offer manuals, but you'd have to be completely out of touch with reality to act surprised that they're not more prevalent on a car obviously most highly consumed by middle-aged (and older) men who use it as an executive sedan or family hauler.

What next - a question on why we can't find more 5-series on the market in neon green? Or why there are none that come with racing slicks on them?

There is a thread a little further down in which Stephen735i states that-

The total number of 550i/6mt F10 is 611 cars with the following details:

2011: 424 cars
2012: 90 cars
2013: 97 cars

I really doubt that there are hundreds for sale at any given time. There were only 269 with the Msport package and my Carbon Black Msport with 6mt is one of 89 ever built. It doesn't make it worth any more money yet and the miles I put on it will prevent it from ever being collectable. I'm willing to give it up for the right price if you want to "save" it.

BTW- they stopped producing the 6mt in the 550i in 2013 worldwide and are not expected to resume building them.
