The passive m-sport suspension on my 520d is pretty good, but I need more low so I've ordered KWv3 coilovers, hope I get a bit firmer ride without ruining the comfort.

OP. the 528i rwd is much lighter than the 535i rwd, like 270lbs lighter. with the increased weight, you don't feel any downside on how the car drives?
anyone?

The M-sport with the passive M-Sport suspension feels like a bargain M5 that is very powerful for everyday but gets great gas mileage and handles fantastic with very good steering. Mine is also Alpine White and this has been my favorite 5-series to date. I've also had a 1995 E34 525i, a 2001 E39 530i, a 2005 E60 530i Sport, and now the 2013 F10 535i M-sport. LOVE IT!!!
13 550i M-Sport here with the passive M suspension. Love it.....but if you want to go a step further....slap some ACS springs on it. Lowers is about an inch, and the handling is really kicked up a notch, without sacrificing ride comfort. Absolute must have upgrade for the F10!!

Interior wise I was just looking for some shots showing your color combo. I have black with aluminum hexagon in mine and my sisters is black/oyster with wood.
The 528i had a staggered setup as well just in 18in size. Tire width was the same 245 front 275 rear.

Passive Msport susp is standard in 2013 RWD Msport packaged cars.

If you have an 535xi - then u dont have the Msport suspension.

The weight difference is not noticeable to me as the current car is more agile and composed during agressive turns.

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but how does OP/others feel about this particular car (RWD) in typical NY/NJ winters? Always thought this spelled trouble for cars with lots of torque but maybe the 535 RWD is manageable...

My car sucks in winters here in Ohio. Doesn't help since I have summer tires! But than again I don't drive it during that time since I use my truck instead. I have read people with RWD will still pickup a set of winter wheels/tires and are just fine. Talk to most of the guys here in Ohio and they said having a set of snow tires even if u are RWD will be fine cause even if you're 4×4 they still see those guys going off the roads.

I was reluctant to get one, but glad I did. Of course AWD is better for the winter.

Posted this thread while ago. http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1076595

In my opinion 535 RWD is perfectly fine on the snow, as long as you have good winter tires and not being stupid behind the wheel. I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.

No kidding , have you tried your truck on the snow with summer tires ?
Just giving you a bit of hard time surprised you even considered driving it like that. As an experiment only, I took mine out during first snowfall last year, November if I remember correctly, late at night, deserted slow streets, about an inch of snow. No drivable at all, not something I would ever recommended with RWD car.

I don't drive it in the winter because
1) afraid of hitting ice and going into a ditch
2) the idiot driver behind me who doesn't understand u can't drive that close
3) salt
4) I'm sure there's more but I realized I don't want to think of winter right now LOL!

what's your feedback in regards to the torque and power delivery between the 528i vs 535i ? Was it a significant difference in daily driving.. less effort to pull off the line on the 535i?

The 528 makes 258 lb/ft of torque at 1450 rpm. 535 makes 300 lb/ft of torque at 1300 rpm.

I don't think anyone is going to have a problem with power delivery for both trims. However, the 535 has more torque and sooner. In normal driving, it wouldn't really be noticeable. In spirited driving, you will.

The biggest difference you will feel will probably be the difference in mode/tune. The 528 feels like a heavy corolla in eco pro. The 535 feels closer to a camry i4.

This car is my DD even in winter.

On summer tires - if you are driving on over 2 inches of snow, you will have ZERO traction when you accelerate so you got to be very careful. I usually put it in ECO mode and that helps. If your stuck - just turn off DSC, and you will be ok.

If you plan to drive in snow storms or after with significant snow/sleet on the roads - definitely get Winter tires.

For me, i rather deal with few challenges that winter brings in my RWD then be compromised with the soft suspension on the AWD the whole year.

The in-line 6 in the 535 is just smooth as butter, very quiet, and has crazy power when you put your foot in it - especially if you get on it at high speeds 80+mph, just takes off, no hesitation.

The 4cyl has sufficient power but is not as smooth obviously. Also the sounds it makes are "cheap" and felt like it was an economy car. Top end is not strong either.

If you can - Definitely go for the 535i!

I went for 528xi twice. First one was 2012 this one is 2015 msport with few toys.

Active Sound takes care of the "cheap" feeling (MY14+), doesn't bother me that its fake at all (so is M5) The car is also way quieter than 2012 among other differences when compared to MY12.

I was very surprised that MY15 528xi felt so different (better) than MY12.
