WARNING - CEC PERFORMANCE in LA

For you guys looking to get AC Schnitzer springs for your car, they have lost their distribution rights but will still take your money.

I ordered mine in mid november, was told i'd have them in two weeks. As you might see from my other posts, i keep saying that they are taking forever. Every time i check on them, the answer is they will be here "next week"...

Finally this weekend I saw a car on the schnitzers and another on on coilovers and said the hell with it, i'm just going the KWV3 route because these springs are never going to arrive anyway and cancel my order. CEC still doesn't even have the springs but claims they will be in "next week" (heard that before) so if i want to cancel, its a 20% restocking fee to "restock" something they don't have.

I'm not cheap, i've put close to $20K in the car and tipped the guys that did good work. Hell, i'll tip the guy that puts my coilovers on more than the restocking fee but this is just principal to me. If that is how you are trying to make your money, you're business model just doesn't work...

Good to know. The power of the net.

Check out West End Alignment in Gardena for installation of the Coilovers. One man shop. The owner / operator is Darin. He know his business.

I'm getting my car lowered by them. Oh I'm copying your wheels! Haha I really liked the. When I saw them live last weekend. Hope you have better luck with the coils. Cheers

I ordered ACS springs from Schmeidmann in Denmark back in October and they arrived via FedEx a few days after they got them from ACS (12 days due to backorder). Their cost to California (including $20 VAT bill from Fedex which came later) set me back around $578.

3130210760
set
3.000 KG USD 528.01 USD 528.01
Lowering-set AC Schnitzer front/rear
NB: Expected in stock in 12 working days

I still haven't gotten around to getting them installed though

Sorry to hear. I ordered my ACS spring for my 535 from CEC wheels, and it took 3 weeks to receive.

Yeah I was just quoted 3 weeks yesterday from them but grabbed a set from a forum member instead. No patience on my end

Have you swung by and given them a hard time? I would share your forum thread with them and I bet they would be responsive

i went through nearly the same exact thing with another vendor for a different part. I ended up contacting my bank and they got me back all of my money. Its not about the cash but its the principle.

how the hell is there a restocking fee when it was never in stock to begin with. Crazy.

The thing that blows my mind is that they just lost the distribution rights and they are still burning bridges.

And that would be the new distributor. I met these guys the other day and their shop was to notch.

BTW, CEC still hasn't returned the money.

You paid for a product you never received. File an online claim with your credit card company. They will credit your account within days and they will go after CEC.

My ACS springs came through CEC to my BMW dealer, but that was over a year ago...

+1

Whenever possible, always pay with major credit card or Paypal. All have a claims procedure and almost always favor the consumer. Tell them you simply want to cancel your order because you learned of the vendor's loss of distributorship and you do not want to take a chance of counterfiet products or lack of warranty support from a non authorized dealer. Your credit card/paypal will refund you deposit faster than you can say fraud

Are you saying to contact AC Schnitzer direct and with the objective that they would sell the springs direct?

Also, I read recently that some where experiencing a loud "banging" noise on compression where the top two coils of the spring where hitting each other. I understand that new springs come with plastic tubular covers over the top two coils of the spring to effectively eliminate this noise. Am I correct?

In ordering these, I want to make sure that this part is included or do I need to specify this in particular?

Thank you.
