Headlight Vertical Adjustment

Hi there. My headlight on the passenger side seems slightly low and would like to adjust the vertical height. I want to confirm (from pic below) that the arrow pointing to the hex screw is the one that adjusts the vertical height? Can someone please confirm before I muck with it? And is it clockwise that raises it or CCW? Thanks.

Make sure the light switch is set to position 2 before adjusting if you have the adaptive xenons, as the Auto setting affects both height and width of the beam pattern.

Hi Bimmertaxi. question: so I adjusted with the light in position 2. As days go by, I realized I positioned it to high... so opened the hood and did several adjustments over a period of time... BUT i freakin forgot to move the light switch to position 2 (i.e. left it in Auto setting) and probably affected the width of the beam (how to confirm?). If I turn clockwise, does it make the beam width smaller or larger?

You really should use a headlamp aimer for this job.

When the headlamps are in auto mode it depends on the angle of the steering wheel, the speed of the car and a couple of other factors how the headlights will turn.

Your BMW service center shouldn't use more than 5 minutes to get this right.

I don't know any details on how to adjust the headlights.

Edit: I don't think the beam width of the individual headlights are adjustable, but the combined beam will be affected.

I figure I revive this old thread instead of starting another one. The headlight height screw is a 6mm hex screw, does anyone know what the 2.5mm hex screw does in the center of that 6 mm height adjustment hex screw? I adjusted the 2.5mm by accident, but I counted the turns and I think I got it back to its original position.

So my question is that both lights will go up with clock wise rotation?
Thanks
