Rear brake service indicator drops 1K every time i drive

wondering if anyone else is having this problem… i have a 2012 535xi base ( no sports package) i have 2500 miles on car. the rear brake pad service indicator via the iDrive drops 1K every couple time i drive the car…. took the car in at 1000 miles because the service indicator went down to 8K miles left to service… Dealer just reset the service interval back to 28K miles…. surprise , surprise when that did not work. took the car to the dealer at 2400 miles because rear brake service indicator was down to 9K miles… this time the dealer said they had to do a 5 hour reprogram of the computer. rear brake service indicator reset to 29K miles. well a couple trips and 100 miles later the rear brake service indicator has dropped 2k miles down to 27K… looks like i will be making a trip back to the dealership in a couple months again….

any one else heard of or had this problem?

and before you ask… no i am not hard on my brakes, i am not using my car for track days… this is my third BMW and I am a rather conservative driver….rear brakes in the past have always lasted me 25K to 35K miles.

I would just have the dealer the pads when the time comes. Maybe the next set of pads will last longer. I was surprised when my rear pads wore out faster than the fronts, but not at 3000 miles.

Same is happening with mine - rapid run down from 15K to 6k though I only have 1600 miles on my '13 535xDrive. Check your dealer to see if the service bulletin addressing the software issue that is causing this has been released yet. My dealer said he expected it in March.
