It's probably going to be the difference between 315/400 and 325/450. Also you may run the risk of faster wear and tear on your DP and turbo due heat.

He has updates for you. We spoke about your tune. What year is your car?

I'm not sure how much validity there is to the size differences. I show the same turbocharging unit from 1/09 to 7/14 where the EWG took over... although these is a production split at 7/13, but it shows the same PN pre and post.

PM: 11 65 7 583 908.

RealOEM lists the WRONG DP flange gasket for my VIN, a 18 30 7 581 970. Where as my car physically uses the 18 30 7 553 601 PN gasket.

If Alex is making his summation based of the DP gasket there is definitely a problem with the ETK data.

The 970 flange seal is about 1/2" larger in diameter than the 601.

Interesting, Alex did mention they sometimes list wrong part numbers on that site. Please make him aware of this when you get a chance.

I will when I speak with him this evening. I thought it was just a RealOEM anomaly, but I verified with the dealer by the VIN the current ETK also has the same erroneous information.

Bmw doubles Sounds like an Intercooler should be required for the 1.5 tune to help with the heat. My car is built in 07/2012 so I guess I can't go too crazy.

I believe that would help, expelling exhaust as quickly as possible is a big factor too.

Bmw doubles.... Question...

I've been wading through this thread and I'm getting a bit dizzy

Is there an option that I can get that utilizes the stock pieces, ups the HP and doesn't shorten the life of the stock parts? I plan on keeping the car for well over 150K miles.

THANKS!!

Stage 1 is for you. All stock parts. It's about 315/420

Sounds like I should stick with stage 1 since I don't want to deal with the back n forth between stock and after market downpipes.

If you got that go stage 2! Stage 3 is upgrading custom compressor and turbine wheels, or pure replacement.

How much WHP and TRQ you looking at with what youve done? Youre on the stock auto 535i transmission right?

I'm hoping to be able to push 450whp/450wtq with the Pure Stage 2 turbo on stock fueling. Yes this is with the 8HP45 auto.

The turbo itself will do 525whp/500wtq with supplemental fueling, but I'm not looking to go there right now (if ever) Not really practical on a daily driver to me, not to mention not cheap. A solid port injection system costs as much as the Pure stage 2 turbo does!
