Drivers seat making noise

Hey guys,

it seems like the drivers seat in my 528 is making creaking noise whenever I go over a small bumb. Its very loud and happens a lot during a normal drive. My car has about 3000 miles on it and this has been happening since I bought it with 3 miles.

It sounds like old rusty springs going up and down.

I never said anything to the dealership because I just though it had to be broken into.

I weigh 200 lbs and my height is 6'. Im not very over weight i guess. But I have had many Ford and GM cars that never had that issue.

any suggestions?

Adjust the seat back and forth and up and down ect ect in all directions it can go a couple times.

This often lubricates the hinges and allows the springs to move around a bit curing some noise problems

It seems like this is happening in cold weather. I live in Michigan and today was below zero in the morning. When I left work in the afternoon, the temperature was about 60 f. I drove home and there was no noise from the seat. I couldn't even replicate it.

Regardless, I moved my seat up down etc just in case.

I really appreciate the help e90fleet

I had the same thing. Found out on mine it was the seatbelt buckle. Dealer replaced it and all is quiet now.
