5 series or 7 series?
Just curious what you guys have thought in terms of comparing the 2 cars? I had a 2011 750li and then got rid of it after 6-7 months....I liked the car...but I was leasing and was driving way too many miles to keep it (had 30k total miles for 36 months over lease....and I had used up 20k already in just 6 months)...so I took the loss and dumped the car instead of taking bigger loss at end of lease.
I didn't like the 7 series not having the LED lights, either. I know the LCI 2013 has them. Any thoughts? I need something 4 doors.....and I jumped into a SL55 after I sold the 750li....so it would be a 550 (as opposed to a 535 or 528). |

The 5 er is a larger car. The 7er is even larger and more luxurious. Both are beautiful cars. The 550i works well for me.

I think you'll be happy with the 5 series. It's just like a 7 with smaller back seats and lower price tag.

Both the 5 and 7 series are amazing vehicles! Hands down the 7 is a better alternative if you require back seat room for adults over 6ft. tall but if that's not an issue the 5 is perfect. Compare a fully loaded 550 with xDrive vs. a loaded 750i with xDrive and you'll save about 25K!

I'am often wondering why people would opt for a 7 over a 5 since the latter is already a massive car. For me, it's already too much. When you go for a 550i, you won't have an issue with lagging output either.

I actually sometimes need a bit more room in the back for passengers, but the 7 series is too long and too un-sporty so I can't do it.
The driving feel is completely different between the 5 and 7, the length and additional weight is definitely felt.

I absolutely love my 550, but if I were gonna spend 90K+, it would be an M5 or 6 series.
For me, the 7 is too big, but that obviously depends on your needs/wants. |

Was offered a pretty good deal on a 750 without the extended base and still found it to be too big for my liking.. I'm not that big of a guy so that probably why haha something about a 7er screams needing a driver.. I don't think I'd enjoy feeling like a chauffeur..
