Glovebox flashlight? Only two cigarette lighers?
Does F10 have a flashlight in the glovebox? I was looking whether I can use one of these http://www.bavauto.com/fland.asp?par...00%20004%20073 to recharge some gadgets. I can find two cigarette lighter sockets. Is there a third one? or I didn't search hard enough :-) I was looking for a cleaner look and not hanging out all the wires.

BMW offers a flashlight accessory that plugs into the 12 v outlets.

As reported before, BMW no longer supplies the flashlight in the glovebox. As far as 12 volt outlets, there should be four.
(1) in the cupholder (2) in the Armrest (I have a September made car with the Combox and I have one there) (3) behind the armrest on the backside, for the rear passengers (4) in the trunk on the back panel I thought that there might have been another in the passenger footwell, but have not looked in that area yet. |

I do too! But I think this LED Lenser rechargeable automotive torch might actually be a better made and more durable replacement for the rather nasty plastic one that BMW used to provide.

I just went out at lunch to look for the 5th socket, under the glovebox. Sure enough..........it's there! Man this car is wired up! 5 total sockets.
Although I wish the flashlight was there, I never used it and will take five sockets over it any day. |

I have a October production 535ix and I can only find 2 lighter sockets:
One in the cup holder and one behind the armrest. Looked really hard and can't find the other sockets mentioned here. I am surprised i cant find the one in the trunk. There should be one there. I need it for my vacuum cleaner! Would anyone mind posting photos of the locations? |

FWIW the manual transmission cars do not have power in the cup holder (which is located in a different place).
The trunk mounted port is located right below the trunk lid latch.

I picked up my car the Welt last week and was surprised to find there wasn't a flashlight anymore. That little light comes in handy and I've used the ones in my previous BMW for all sorts of things. Though it was kind of dim and didn't work well after a few years.
Anyways, BMW sells one thats pretty nice and its not overpriced. I picked this up for 15 Euros at the factory parts department. #63 31 9 139 112 It pretty bright, LED so it will last awhile, and comes in a nice case for the glovebox. Its just not rechargeable. I think they should give us one though. Its a handy tool. |

Yeah I took out my E60 flashlight (mine was one of the last with a flashlight) and also remembered the first aid kit. Just had to add a little bit of velcro to the F10 trunk lid. Seriously, how much would it have cost for BMW to add these two items? They saved money on the no spare tire.

The first aid kit and warning triangle came with my MY2012 F10 in UK.
...Strange why they choose to not supply those items in some regions now! |

Check again, the socket under the glove box should be there. It is kind of more under the glove box on the horizontal trim piece. You will not see it unless you've got your head under the glove box.
