How do I change driving mode specifically Sport mode
Good Morning,
I have had a 2011 528i now for 2 months and I see that my car is in Normal mode when I turn off and on the traction control button, I know this might be a silly question, but I was wondering how do I change the driving mode to sport mode, do I need a specific package to have the sport mode option. The car has navigation and the i-drive screen. |

move your automatic shifter to the Left. Now you are in sports mode. You do not have the option that you are thinking of by the gear select that others use to change modes (ECO, COMFORT, SPORT).

If you have adaptive shocks, you will have the DDC toggle switch (Drive Performance Control as it is now called) for the modes.

http://www.kbb.com/car-news/all-the-...ll/2000005371/ "To enhance corner-carving proficiency, the new M Sport Package bolsters its tauter suspension tuning with elements contained in the 5 Series Dynamic Handling Package. These include Electronic Damping Control, Active Roll Stabilization and BMW's four-mode Adaptive Drive setup -- although the latter two items are not part of the formula on the 528i." |

Originally DDC (modes function) only came if you optioned one of the following, 2TB, 2VA, 223 & 2VH. Certainly so over here in Europe. If there are adaptive shocks, then the modes function will be there with the toggle switch. If there is adaptive suspension in 2011 models, DDC will have a Comfort mode. |

I'm not sure this is accurate. Atleast for the 2011 535i (which I previously owned) the M-Sport Package was $6500 and included Dynamic Damper Control and Active Roll Stabilization. From 2012 forward, ARS was unbundled from the M-Sport package as a stand-alone option in the USA. Again, I had a US-Spec 2011 535 ... but usually from historical comparison, the packages for 528 and 535 were similar ... 550s had similar but slightly different option packages (ie. Executive Package), and came with a few goodies standard that were upgrades on 528 and 535.
