Bumper/Lip Skid Plates
I was looking for a way to protect my 3D design rep lip, even thinking I would make one from plastic myself. But I found this guy on the MFest forum who makes skid plates to fit specific cars. On his website at www.*************.com, he is selling ones he designed and made for the F10 M5 and some M3s. He can make ones for our F10 MSport, or even to fit certain aftermarket lips. My MSport bumper is scratched up by itself, and I just paid $300 to have my lip repainted after I messed it up. For around $130 ea. or so, he can make us these lip protectors.
He is in Norcal and needs the lip we want to protect or an MSport car to get measurements from. He uses them in a CAD program to design the skid plates so they fit perfectly, and with the existing bolts. Who's interested? This looks like a real inexpensive way to protect our investments from errant curbs waiting to destroy or otherwise ruin our expensive lips and bumpers. Maybe a vendor can get with him to provide lips we can design plates for too. |

F10 skid plate
Kinda confused by this BUT interested in this product.
Have a 2014 F10 with MSport package. I was under the impression that the MSport front was the same as the M5. Incorrect.??? Not many M5's prowling our part of the country (except maybe in Chicago area) so I've never had the opportunity to make the comparison. |

The M5 bumper is different from the MSport bumper. Skid plate would have to be custom measured and designed. Not a lengthy process, but says he needs a car to do so. Measurements are ok, but fitment of the prototype cannot be verified without a car. This guy has an M5.

Maybe a vendor can help him out with a bumper and/or lip for development purposes and partner with him on the sales. Any vendors in the San Francisco area interested?

maybe. CF would look great, but it has to either be pretty indestructible or inexpensive enough to replace without costing a ton. Know of anything?
