I love gadgets, but not gadgets for gadgets' sake. This simply is not additive in any way. If you could truly customize the configurations to put what information you want where you want it, it may be interesting. But to just toggle thru three cartoonish displays does nothing for me.

btw, if you want to see really beautiful and customizable displays, check out the instrument cluster and 17-inch center display on the Tesla Model S. Everyone in the car industry should just copy what Tesla has done.

I don't like the new cluster either. It looks gimmicky to me. The normal comfort mode looks ok but the other driver modes just look 'cheap'.
Just my opinion and I know many people on the forums like it.
I just hope that in furture years, we have a choice over this although I suspect this is teh way its going. (Is the LCI going to have this as standard or is the 6WA going to be dropped?)
Suspect one LCD screen is going to be cheap, just afew wires going to it so I'm sure its the way the industry is going.
I just think it neds to be conservative in its apperance and not look like a japanese drift car inside!

I like the idea of it, and I'm sure the technology will improve rapidly with regard to refresh rates, pixel density, contrast etc. Eventually maybe the manufacturers will realise they could sell alternative virtual gauge packs as options. I'd love to be able to switch to a full set of virtual '60s era Smiths instruments for example. It doesn't have to be all about whizzy new graphic representations. I don't really want it to look like an arcade game either, and it doesn't necessarily have to. It could be used to provide more customer choices for conventional looking gauges, and that would be a good thing.

The 6WB looked nice. But it has to do way more than replicating the 6WA to get me to switch

Ok. It's just surprising that a M550xd came with a basic Kombi.

I definetly plan to have these guys install the new gauges in my just purchased 2013 750 LI. If it isn't too complicated or risky to install it, I am all for it! Sign me up!

We retrofitted the Multifunctional Instrument Panel in an F13 built when this cluster was not yet available.
Thank you Hung for choosing BimmerTech!

This retrofit can be done in the following models: F01, F02, F06, F07, F10, F11, F12, F13.

I think it looks just great!!! How do you guys like it?

Where do you get 5500? It shows 7000 on Kombi.

I see it is not on all displays now. Maybe the one with the 5500 redline is for a diesel?

Ah yes, the one with 5500 is in Metric, so maybe Diesel or smaller motor like a 523i or something.
