Thankful reminder

Had an F30 Loaner. Loaded to the hilt. Hated it. Felt like a Hyundai in comparison to my 5. We are very fortunate

I had a brand new F30 320i as a loaner this past spring. It was pretty disappointing in handling as well as interior finish quality.

Same here... Had a brand new 2013 328i loaner a last week. It was disappointing. I was expecting something more from what I've been hearing.

You have a 5 series. I am talking about the interior layout and general feel of cheapness.

Same here. Had a 328i luxury trim loaner. Interior was total disappointment. Too much black plastic, seats were no where near as comfortable as the 5 series standard seats, doors felt like empty tin cans when you closed them. I was surprised by the power of the 4 cylinder engine, lots of power and torque once the turbo's spooled up.

The F30 interior is pretty horrid compared to the F10. IMO the F10 feels like a $100+K car in comparison to it from the inside, one from a completely different manufacturer even.

I had a 2009 328i that I was considering replacing with an F30. Test drove the F30 and was severely disappointed. Test drove the F10 and fell in love. Having the F30 as a loaner just reinforced that I made the right decision.

I was hoping the interior of the f30 would look more like the f10, but no such luck, so that's one reason I got the f10.

The saddest part is that the "4 Series" gets the 3 Series interior which is probably a deal breaker for me after being accustomed to the F10's beautiful inside.

After having F10 for less than a week, it feels like a true luxury car. (I call it my Baby 7-series with a M5 look)

I protested every time the dealer tried to get me into a F30 and said it should be about same as my past 2011 335d - not even close! My 335d was a luxury trimmed small tank.

3 & 5 series cars are now definitely in different market segments, appealing to a different customer base, from my observation.

A 5-series is a small 7-series, not a bigger 3-series. Just look at the suspension for example, design straight out of a 7-series.

I was driving an F30 for 3 days a few weeks ago, certainly helps you to appreciate the 5-series. But on the other hand there are guys on here who prefer the 3-series.

But I must say the f30 drives and handles great.
