Any 35d Owners Out There Yet?

Xi or RWD???

I had an X5 35d and loved that motor..Am thinking a 535d should be one of my next car considerations...

Anyone have some behind the wheel time of one of these? Priced out MSport Xdrive and they get pricey fast!

Dude, if u live in america. Ur 535d is fake. Its actually 530d in global market. Unless u can import 535d. Otherwise, just get 535i or 550i.

That's the silliest comment I've ever heard. Ill take the "530d" over 535i any day of the week. Of course it goes down to preference but your comment was still kinda lame. The whole us 535d is really a 530d topic is old. Many people know that even though its a 530d it's still amazing.

ok, so after a hard left, let's' get the thread re-booted...

Last 5 series I owned was 550i E60 LCI....Lovely beast for sure. Was wondering if anyone had any behind the wheel time in F'10 diesel? Am considering that as next car consideration

I've owned a 530d for 18 months now and am very pleased with the engine.
I persoanlly see it as the best compromise in the range, fast if you want (+_60 ~ 6.0s) and economical if desired.
My average over nearly 9000 miles is 41.8 although I generally only use it at weekend and not for comuting so I'd expect most people to be averaging less than that. At idle , yes you tell its a diesel but its not got that taxi / tractor sound!
It effortless and doesn't require the revs, 70mph is 1500rpm. Try one out and see what you think

530d (535d US) is more like the 535i to drive, in my experience. I'd certainly not rate it anywhere near a V8.

Here in the UK the 530d will be the car of choice for most drivers, as it is a cost issue, rather than choosing which fuel/engine we'd prefer. I 'back to back' tested the F10 530d and 535i and liked the engine in the 535i more than the 530d. I've been a 3.0d BMW diesel driver (E91 330d) for over 6-years and love the engines, but the N55 engine puts a bigger smile on my face while driving.

The 530d is a superb car by UK standards, a decent set of compromises, drives well, but still compromises all the same, IMO.

I chose the 535i above a 530d for my current car, (totally against the grain in the UK) no regrets either after almost a year.
